Google just released Chrome (currently in BETA and for Windows only), their take on how a browser should be. They’ve based it on the paradigm that you run a lot of apps using the browser (ie. Mail, RSS, Social Media, etc.). It tries to rid you of getting a headache when you’re in the middle of something on one tab and then one site on another tab just crashes your browser (like some poorly coded flash sites).
Following are the things I currently like so far:
- It actually shows me how much memory, CPU process and network bandwidth a certain tab is consuming. It even shows the same stats for plugins (eg. Flash Player).
- It has a very clean interface and maximizes space by doing away with the menu bar (a la IE7). The status bar also fades in and out as needed (when you hover over links or when you’re loading a site.
It’s javascript implementation seem to be a bit buggy still though since there are some overlays on facebook which it fails to activate (which work in Safari). Most of the other sites I go to seem to be ok though. We’ll see how it goes.

I featured this on my website as well but not extensively. For some reason after seeing Google Chrome, it made me decide to still stick with Firefox. Haha
I love Google Chrome. However I’m a bit disappointed with the things that have been going on lately. I can’t access plurk through it, and a few moments ago, same thing happened to Friendster. I think the other websites are conniving with the other browsers since a lot of people prefer Chrome now.
I hope your brother gets well soon Kuya Jr!
