Keeping my devices in sync

Lately, I’ve been using my E71 more than my computer — to organize my calendar, read emails, make quick replies, update contact info. And with iSync I’ve been able to keep the info between my computer and mobile phone synchronized.

I had hesitations before with syncing a phone with my computer since I might end up wiping info from either devices. But since the E71 was new, I had the luxury of having a backup of my phone contacts on my previous phone. After the first sync, everything was set. Doing a sync takes less than a minute most of the time.

My info also gets synced with my iPod Touch over-the-air through MobileMe since my trial has been extended twice –thanks to their hiccups during launch. And I probably won’t get the full subscription since I don’t think I’ll make full use of the email feature. Gmail has so far been able to satisfy most of my needs for email across all three of my mobile devices (MacBook Pro, E71, iPod Touch). Also, I’m also currently using Dropbox and JungleDisk for my online storage needs so I might not be able to fully utilize iDisk. So I’m gonna pay for the service just to keep my iPod Touch in sync with my MacBook Pro which I can do without MobileMe. The only benefit of it would be my data will be stored on “the cloud” so in case I crash my notebook, I can easily sync with the data on the cloud.
